The exhibition is an exploration of funeral practices and rituals in Poland, in the period from 1959 to 2021, and an attempt to outline possible scenarios for changes in this area in the 21st century. The presentation consists of four projects, ideal types of futuristic funeral rituals. The utopian visions stem from patterns present in the history of our cultural circle, customs practiced in other Western countries and juxtapositions with trends present in analogous areas of human life, for example, in the ritual of birth. The Dizajn gallery will present a collection of threads, images, data, films and drawings, between which connections are drawn that build a broad map of the situation. The interpenetration of the world of the living and the dead, Death as a dream, Death on the Web, or DIY Funeral are just some of the many funerary imaginings of the Polish funeral of the future undertaken by Kuba Mazurkiewicz.
